ITV News
ITV News has the second-largest television news audience in the United Kingdom. Getting to work with the award winning graphics department at such an iconic staple of British television was thoroughly enjoyable.
I was trusted with leading shifts, mentoring junior designers & freelancers, and became one of the departments strongest technical members in a short space of time. Due to my varied creative skill set, I was also regularly relied upon to take on projects for special programmes, which included branding and developing Viz templates. Many of the projects in the highlight reel had typical daily news broadcast turn around times, which at most would be 2 hours to complete, from conception to delivery.
Al Jazeera
Al Jazeera was my first taste in a professional broadcast newsroom environment. It was an invaluable first hand experience at getting a deep understanding the workflows of a live studio setting.
As well as creating motion graphics in a time sensitive delivery window every day, I got to grow my skills on designing for real-time graphics engines. Due to my ability to swiftly pick up new technical skills, I was also introduced to developing Viz templates – something usually left to far more senior Viz users.
